Joint Rotations
This is done with oil better but can be done without oil with cloths on. It is often combained with Lomi Lomi Temple style session. The giver facilitate the mobilities, range of motion and release of physical tension in Joint and body as well as emotional and spiritual issues that often causing the physical symptoms. Joint rotaions are done prone and spine positions for shoulders & elbows and hips, knees & ankles. .
Lomi Lomi Temple Style is said to consist elements similar to Swedish and Esalen massage, Rolfing, acupressure, and polarity therapy and some that are very unique to Lomi Lomi. Lomi Lomi session aims the wholeness of body, mind and spirit with brief discussion and Hawaiian rituals. It incorporates hula movements and breath, called Ha-Breath, and the recipient experiences profound healing effect, often accompanied with chanting and prayer/blessing; the chant can be either verbal or silent. Simultaneously, it energizes the giver. The givers of Lomi Lomi use primarily their forearms and elbows gracefully with long deep strokes in hula movements. All of this produces weaving movements and depth that awakens the body to connect with Spirits. In addition to the mechanical/physical aspects of Lomi Lomi, intention, honor, presence, sacred space, attentiveness, love and respect are also important. Moreover, Lomi Lomi activates the body’s cells vibrating at a fast pace so that the energy can flow freely. The foundation of this bodywork is derived from Hawaiian Shamanism, such as HUNA. HUNA is a philosophy of life, the "secret," the "hidden knowledge." It is a system with seven principles.
HUNA Seven Principles:
- IKE: The World Is What You Think It Is
- KALA: There Are No Limits
- MAKIA: Energy Flows Where Attention Goes
- MANAWA: Now Is the Moment of Power
- ALOHA: TO Love Is TO Be Happy With
- MANA: All Power Comes From Within
- PONO: Effectiveness Is the Measure of Truth
Because Lomi Lomi strokes are long and flowing, we typically do not put sheets on the table. For sessions longer than 90 minutes, Hawaiian anointing ritual, HAMO is accompanied. The different level of covering is offered depending on your comfort level. The minimum covering is recommended because of flowing techniques used but it is not required. Please feel free to let us know what is more comfortable for you.
Please note that Lomilomi is very spiritual, therapeutic and intimate so it can be sensual to some but it is never sexual.
Lomi Lomi Temple-Style is an ancient healing art, a rite-of-passage to activate and harmonize the energy of Heaven and Earth in your body. It also uses and connects energy from spirits of elders, ancestors and kahunas; and shift receiver’s energy by raising their vibration and vibration of anything around them. “Lomi” means energy shift or thumb. Lomi Lomi Means “rub rub” or “energy shift energy shift.” Therefore, it is an energy shifting touch therapy. Despite the importance of techniques in massage, much of work is done by love and intention of giver. The giver focus his/her full, deep and complete attention to a receiver with unconditional love (aloha) and compassion. The unconditional love comes from heart. It is a part of Conscious Self which communicates with Basic Self. Most energies or feelings such as fear, paralysis, sexuality, sorrow, weakness, tension and angers are a part of Basic Self. Just like parents care for a child, Conscious Self balances and harmonizes these energies and feelings from Basic Self. When Conscious Self and Basic Self merge, Higher Self embraces all in light of pure spirit. Energies in light of High Self surge though you and High Self caresses you with love and compassion. Feeling this love and compassion, the receiver relaxes and opens up from inside. Thus, energies flow even more freely. From the definition, energy shift is dramatic with Lomi Lomi. What all these can mean “to remove what doesn’t belong.” For this, Lomi Lomi Temple-Style is an energy shifting touch therapy bodywork that can change your mind, body, emotions and life. Negative energies, wishes and wants that no longer serve him/her will be released. Positive energies flow in and shift within him/her and his/her life. As it restores the balance positive and negative energies, healing takes place at the deepest level: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. The whole experience is a sacred journey of personal transformation.

Wellness for Body, Mind and Spirit
Kahi Loa
Kahi Loa is one variation of Lomilomi, a touch therapy that was taught by Serge Kahili King based on the form he learned from the Kahili family of Kauai. In Kahi Loa, giver works on your skin not on muscle, using fingers and hands with more focus on mind than body to get in touch with elements of earth such as fire, water, wind crystal, plants, animal and human being. If it is done alone, no oil is used so it can be done without removing cloths. It can also be done under the sheet when combined with other massage and bodywork such as Lomilomi Temple Style. Light pressure is used in this healing system that involves the mind, body and energies of both giver and receiver that allows the free and abundant flow of life force, called “mana” in receipient.
